Biography

Reis is the founding director of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI), which fosters collaborative research that advances new medical therapies and technologies in clinical care while training clinical scientists and ensuring greater access to clinical trials for patients and the public.

Reis previously served as director of Pitt’s Clinical Research Cardiovascular Institute and Office of Clinical Research. Reis specializes in internal medicine with cardiology as a subspecialty. His research interests include cardiovascular health and heart disease in women, racial disparities in cardiovascular disease, microvascular angina, endothelial function, and cardiovascular risk.

Reis’ research has been sponsored by the National Cancer Institute, National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, and National Institute of General Medical Science.
